If someone is worried about my intentions towards the diodes, i'll return the two murder candidates to Daguin for inspection, after they are dead, if that makes anyone feel better? (in their original test environment, with everything still attached - entire lasers, with heatsink/module and driver)

As soon as the diodes get here?

At the moment i only have one here, don't know what to compare it's efficiency to, since most of the data is for Pioneer 8x diodes...

But i'll plot this one while waiting for the others from the test pool to arrive...

8x Diode MURDER EXPERIMENT - UPDATE!

It looks like the MURDER POOL will consist of 15 LG 8x diodes!

Three of them were arranged and shipped to me by Daguin already, the other 12 are coming from an 8x Mini "GB" we arranged with a lot of help from Bryce007.. :thanks:


15 diodes to choose from! 15 diodes to test, plot and check for consistency!
The weakest two out of fifteen doomed to meet their maker in the MURDER experiment...


The statistical efficiency spread data alone will be very interesting to analyze! I'm also curious, if they will show any wavelength variations like PHRs and GGWs, the one i saw so far had a "normal" wavelength...

We will finally also be able to see if it's true, that diodes used in drives are more consistent in efficiency and "toughness" than those we find in reject sleds (which are all over the place when it comes to efficiency, wavelength, toughness and so on)...


With USPS Express they will all be here in just over a week! :drool:



Then the testing begins! :lasergun:

Just curious, Igor, how will you decide who gets the "better" diodes ???

I mean the ones with: Higher wavelengths / higher efficiency..


Oh and Jay, just ignore whatever TJ says.

Hes always one to me. But I've learned to ignore things now. I won't respond to negative posts anymore. Man the 12x's are going to be so great!
