NOTE: To facilitate the readers, the last updated text will be written in red color.

Having seen an exponential increase of data, researches, and even more Forum members owning different brand and types of these diodes, my attempt is to collect all data (actually spread on different topics) in a single topic site.
I have immediately added the following threads as I have foreseen the possibility to introduce and update the three basic efficiency plots for each different type of diode, also for some future one, still unknown, and just to give everybody a simple research at the beginning of this topic.

The (simple) formulas and the data required to trace the three "efficiency" plots are the following:

Eff% = Po/Pi x 100
Pi = Ii x Vi where:

Po = Power Output (mW)
Pi = Power Input (mW)
Ii = Current Input (mA)
Vi = Voltage Input (V)

Hereunder I insert the datasheet of all the 8x owners (actually located in the "Tutorial, Help & Repairs" thread, which will be no more updated): it will be updated here.

The "Kendall Mistery" Curve has been upgraded according to the factor suggested by Dave, according to his 405-G-1 reading.
The Dave plot has been updated according to my answ. #15.

BDR-203 Plots

Last Update: 2009-09-10
Previous Update: 2009-08-17

Herewith are added the three main efficiency plots for the BDR-203 diodes, and these plots will be updated according to the members that will show or PM me all the data needed to plot these graphs.

These are the first data recorded by Daguin, and the Po has been increased according to his suggestion, relevant to the single reading with the 405-G-1 lens.

Herewith will be added the three main efficiency plots for all the 8x diodes that will be introduced in the worldwide market, or still unknown; these plots will be updated according to the members that will show or PM me all the data needed to plot these graphs.

For the moment, no efficiency plots are available.

Outstanding Graphs FrancoRob! These graphs, along with an updated database here on this thread will help us learn more than ever about diodes when we compare them! Time to print these off and work on a function for each diode!

:eg:

+1 rep!

kudos to you franco... I now have Faith to ware I'm putting my diode when I get it.

I've been trying to find the data sheet, but going off of memory didn't Dave acheive the 512mW at a higher current setting than posted in the table above. I remember he acheived that 512mW setting then turned down the current.

I'm still trying to find the original thread.

You can find Dave datasheet in the first thread of: Reviews - Possible 8X Sled from HighTechDealz

Take care that he has done the test with an Aixiz acrylic lens. Then, in his answer #8, he wrote:

"You can easily convert this data without re-doing the full test if you only want to know a certain output at a certain current. Simply calculate the percentage increase between 325 and 430. Then you can use that percentage of increase to apply it to any other output in the graph to see what it would be with the G-1 lens."

This is exactly what I have done.:yh:

so I think its safe to say that it was based on a % projection, but I remember still
a pic that showed the 512mW... I am of course getting older and there is a lot of info
on this. Thanks Heath for the link I re-read most of it already.:) that was a great thread.

iskor12 and jander6442:

both of you are remembering the first test that Dave has carried out on the first BDR-203 (now you have to be careful about the type of diode we are speaking of:D), while his actual efficiency curve data are relevant to a BDR-S03, also called "Kendall mistery".

Anyway your notes have been helpful, as I have carefully read again all that thread: in the answer #41 Dave has given some mA/mW data, obtained with an Aixiz acrylic lens with the back opened.
In the answer #116 Dave has given some voltage relevant to different mA values.
In the answer #122 he declared 365mA , 400mW (acrylic lens), 512mW (405-G-1 lens).

Thanks to all these data, now I think to be able to plot the three efficiency graphs relevant to the BDR-203, also if I have to multiply the Po data of answer #41 per 1,28 (512 / 400 mW); I'll be also able to update the 8x BR Owners general graph.

found it ...yep...365mA at 400mW with acrylic 512mW after jay's bada$$ lens.

sorry franco for the confusion and yes I was refering to Dave's first BDR-203 testing.:)
I'm good now, maybe a nickname for the BDR-S203 would help
