There was no baseball game in the park tonight, so I took a quick beam shot through the balconey door. ::)

It kinda sucks, there is a lot of pet walking etc. and I dont like to draw attention. There is somebody else in my building with a low power green, who likes hitting peoples windows. All I need is this idiots crap to fall on me

LOL, South East ;) Pearson is way West and a bit North of me. In that shot (you cant see) its over Lake Ontario, I avoid outdoor use when possible. You never know what reactions you will get if you flaunt it :-/ Im going to try for a distant shot with my wife holding the cam, and me pointing at my balconey from a couple of kilometers away.

I hear ya. I'm right on a flight path to Pearson and since that news kerfuffle a month or so back I haven't shone a beam outside for fear of being reported. Next time we get some fog though, I'm heading out to the tip of Leslie Spit and going nuts taking beam shots East over the lake. Good times... :) It's a shame this hobby is being driven underground by the actions of a few fools... Take care. :-/

The one good thiing about having a BR is that it is not as obvious as a green, and I doubt that there are any reports in CPIC for that colour. It still makes me a bit nervous, but none the less I will avoid pointing in a direction which may draw unwanted attention. There was a good fog lastnight, and am expecting more, its just too bad we have to worry about such nonsense :(

[quote author=TheGr8Revealing link=1210096748/30#43 date=1210311759]where does one exactly find a 6x diode?

Parts list (for my build), but it shows the model number and link for the 6 X:

Hey wannaburn, what all do you have going on there in those awesome pictures of yours! Did you make the scanner? Total eye candy.

Well since I bought the 6x (LG) I was thinking about trying a simple scanner build. It’s a very basic setup with two pc fans, 4 first surface mirrors, and a fixed 55mW green labby. The red and blue can be positioned beside the scanner and added to the green. I still have to try it with a vibrating mirror for some extra patterns. I placed a 100ohm trimpot on one of the fans, and can tune it so the pattern doesn’t rotate. More or less it’s just an aid for pics, with all the parts hot glued in place. When I have the time, I plan on making a little of a better one, but for now it will suffice ;)
