Hi all, my first build is done, and I am quite happy. I used a 6x blue ray diode, rckstr microdrive, ultrafire L2 host, custom machined heatsink powered by 2 Li-ion cr123a rechargeable. I'm getting a bit of a lens flare even when focused correctly, perhaps it's because of the acrylic lens, I think I might order a glass one. The driver is outputting 190mA, and according to the manufacturer specifications, the diode should be putting out ~200mW. It easily lights matches and pops baloons, I am having a great time with it.

Thanks to anyone that gave me help and advice, I had a great time, and I couldn't have done it so easily without your help :thanks:

Well lets see the finished article then! :)

Nice build....but...your soldering skills need a little brushing up on. The picture with the module & driver next to the tweezers, damn thats just begging to short circuit.

But well done on your build.

Yeah, it's been a while since I dug out the soldering iron before this.
