It all started strange. Find a victim to sacrifice. Take a perfectly good bluray burner and turn it to rubble.

Take the extracted diode and using Flaminpyros press tool, press said diode into DTR's module.

Take a flexdrive from Illumination Supply and using Flamnpyros Super Excellent test load set the current. We just sacrificed an entertainment device so lets set the current to 666ma. This diode will have the mark of the beast flowing through it till the day it dies.

Here is the flexdrive thermal epoxied in a pill from Survival Lasers with a Survival Lasers battery contact. Survival Lasers ALWAYS get me my stuff in three days. Never have had any problem with any of their products. I know it is kind of a strange way to mount the driver and battery contact. It's what I wanted.

Here it is ready for final assembly

Here is using Flaminpyros module extractor. I use it to set the module flush with the heatsink & to keep the heatsink from twisting while tightening the bezel ring. I highly recommend Flaminpyro's products. His products are top of the line and make life easy. Plus he is a great person to do business with and knows what he is talking about.

Well, that was a good way to spend a cool and windy day. LPF I would like for you to meet Mark of the Beast. Mark of the Beast, meet LPF. :)

Earlier today during setup I got this reading with a lens I just had sitting there.

Now that she is all finished and sporting a good lens. Might as well fire her up. Either she will blow or she will go. :)

Holy Mother of Illumination, I humbly offer the diode gods this pioneer 16x as a sacrifice :)

Thanks Polonium210 ! I appreciate the kind words. I was really hoping for 1w. I was really tempted to tweak my current settings. I'm trying to make myself stop doing that. The diode seems really happy set right where it is at. I've powered it on and off a bunch of times. Left it on while taking pics. Took it outside to play :) I'm happy with 979.
Thanks again !

Awesome build

Since you're using a radiant x4 lpm which has a slow 30 second resolution I'm sure that your build would hit 1w on an Orphir sensor.

Maybe that should be the next purchase ;)

+1 for a superb build :gj:

Great build! The power of these new diodes is impressive :D

Since you're using a radiant x4 lpm which has a slow 30 second resolution I'm sure that your build would hit 1w on an Orphir sensor.

Resolution = how fine it can read.
Response time = how fast it reads.

Thanks will manners ! I appreciate it ! I probably will get a new meter in the future as my building abilities get better. Anyway I hope they get better :)

Thanks ARG ! I appreciate it ! These new diodes are awesome ! So many diodes, so little time and money.

I'm really enjoying this hobby. I can just sit at my bench, listen to music, relax and build. Forget the world even exists for a little while. :)

Really awesome build. These new diodes are awesome. I would suggest next time a microboost as the flex is supposed to stay under 5.5V for the output. Not sure if there is any downside by exceeding it or not. Anyway great work on the build. Nice and clean. Thanks for sharing.

Oh also don't worry about a low reading on the LPM these 405nm diodes are incredibly stable. They are not like the 445's where they drop rapidly. I would bet you are within a 5mW of the peak reading.:)

Thanks DTR ! It was your 16x pioneer thread that started this build
I'm new to all this, thanks for the info. I don't have all my drivers and diode combinations figured out yet. This is my first build using a flex. I'm still in the caveman stages of building. I find the specs on a diode, hook it to my ps, LPM it and see where it seems happy at :) see what drivers are available to choose from. Set the driver up, make sure my V & A are good and stable. Terminate it to a diode, and pray :)
It's info from the veterans of this forum, that let us new recruits do what we do and enjoy this hobby.
Thank you Sir.

Thanks Pman ! I appreciate the kind words and the REP.

Go Beast!
Super build IWIRE, These 16X diodes seem to be the real thing.
That last pic showing the the beam is sweet! :D

Good job +1

Thanks Gadget ! Appreciate the kind words. Gives me encouragement. Glad you enjoyed the references :) I didn't actually have a name for it when I started the build. I have this really weird procedure I go through to match my diode to my driver. I'm sure it's probably not even close to how it's suppose to be done :) At the voltage my driver was putting out the diode seemed to like 665ma. I thought that won't do, make it 666ma and call it Mark of the Beast :) That really is what the driver is set to. I would never intentionally put any mis-information out. My hope is someone that knows more than me, can use this build to make one more powerful, or someone that is happy with this build copies it.

Thanks BowtieGuy ! Appreciate it ! This diode is the real deal. I've gone through two batteries playing with it. It lives ! :) It will burn the Devil out of you :) Seriously, it really will.

The beamshot was taken with my Canon EOS 7D using a time exposure. All the rest were taken with my Canon S110. For some reason the S110 can't take a good beamshot of the 405nm. It winds up with these really strange "ghost circles". I dunno why.

Thanks again !

Now I'm working on one I call "Miss Outrageous" :) It's a 445 and there is absolutely no reason for it except I want to build it. It uses a single 16340. Run time probably 2 sec. LOL ! :)

Ha ! I made it ! I tried a different G2 lens and hit 1W ! I can sleep now. :D :lasergun:

Thanks Tmack ! Appreciate it ! That's my "trademark" : more balls than brains :) "Hit the wall smokin' and spinnin', never thinkin' about nuthin' but winnin'" :)

Thanks ped ! I appreciate it Sir !

Thank you Thejoker301 ! I appreciate it !

All these kind words of encouragement make me want to keep building and posting pics :)
Thanks everybody ! :)
