I had a 12mm brass module from a China seller, this is a screw in diode and lens
Holder not pressed, I also had a larger module that I had purchased from my
Local Bunnings store from the plumbing section and it was the nicest 11.8mm module I have used, it was so spot on that when I pushed a aixis module threw it it would pop from the suction.
The smaller brass module was a fraction larger than a aixis module so it pressed into the larger one with a vice like they were ment to be, I also shortened the inner module half a centimetre.
After all that i realised there isn't enough room for the Nano boost driver, I had to make an aluminium spacer so the driver would fit without getting crushed or shorting, a little disappointing as I wanted the whole module to be brass.
Only had a 3 element lens left for this build but the beam is just as bright as my
16xSigelli, the only thing left to do is shorten the host barrel about 3mm so it
Will close flush with the heatsink and head of the host.
I've been looking for a good quality Aurora host for a while and for $33 this host
Is outstanding, it came polished the first time I've seen such a shiny host and it
was scratch free.
