Yes, yes, I know (I was just joking :D): your is one of the rare reviews written in pale yellow characters....
The videos are relevant to the yobresal 445nm - 1W toy!

;-)

Just added my 445 to the Grix list.

IMPORTANT REQUEST:

I am looking for a volunteer, who would be willing to receive a laser almost for free (or completelly free if they were to return it afterwards), in return for helping me put all the hours from the two Murder Experiments into perspective.

Basically, they would "have to" use the laser for a month (however much they felt like using it during this time) and after the predetermined amount of time they would only have to return a small time-recorder from it's guts and send that back, keeping the laser itself if they wanted to (at the cost of the driver and the diode)....

The results would help us figure out how much lifetime 100h actually is for example (it would help me convert hours of diode lifetime into years of average pointer use)...

Ideally this volunteer should be someone new(er) to the forum, even more ideally someone who doesn't have a 405nm laser yet. This way the laser would get used much more...

Only "drawback" is, the requirements of the time-recorder make it almost impossible to do this with a metal host. The laser would have to be in a small plastic body, slightly reminiscent of a miniature Phazor model i once saw in STTNG. It could be between 120-200mW.

You guys think we could find a volunteer who would match these requirements?
