I don't have a blu ray and i really want one. not looking for burning power just a decent blu ray laser. Was thinking of ordering the 10mW blu ray with adjustable focus which would be just under 30$ after shipping. Should i do it? Is o like trustable? Is there something better for the price? please respond quick im anxious to order lol.

Are you kidding?

O-like is one of the best hobby-oriented companies out there!
Susie is their operator on MSN , o-like@live.cn

O-like is great, you can see my review of their 50mW green laser module in 'Reviews' section.
around 80 mW peak, just under 70 mW average.
Beat that for $30 module.

Without any second thought, O-like.
I never bought from Rayfoss though, so I cannot tell you about that.

I did from O-like, and I can say they are great.

You can't go wrong with O-like ,
Even if they ship out bad or defective item, you can always take pic or video of item and talk to Susie, she will ship out replacement as soon as possible, to make it right to you.

I have the "10mW" pointer from )-like, and it usually puts out around 18mW.
Personally, I prefer the focusable for violets, especially if you want to play with fluorescent materials; it's lots of fun to defocus the beam just to cover more area.

Don't worry about O-like's reputation, they have tons of customers (myself included) who can vouch for their (Susie's) service.

Just my $.02 ;)

Take off the lens , turn off the light and shine a bluray on a pile of GITD dust caps = priceless.

Or a pile of yellow BB bullets. Great effect!

Never tried out this one but, writing on large GITD sheet in dark... I'l be damned, I really have to find some GITD paint around here somewhere.

That is great dude, make sure you review it once you have it, to let others know what to pick when they are in same situation as you 3 posts ago!

Enjoy your laser, and please TAKE CARE when handling the laser, it is not a toy after all!
Pick up a pair of laser goggles first chance you get!

I have that same laser. I pot modded it and boy it can light matches now! I won't expect it to last too long pot modded, though. Before pot-modding, it could still summon some smoke from leather.

I also bought some laser goggles from scopeguy20. I don't know if he has any left, but they're great for $15.

Only issue is the focusing lens is a little wobbly. Nothing a little teflon plumbing tape every few weeks can't fix.

You will also have fun removing the lens all-together and finding things that fluoresce.

How did you mod the potentiometer? Did you drill a hole in the casing, or were you able to take it apart? Do i have to remove the lens to play with glow in the dark stuff?

Dude, about GITD stuff,
What a silly question!:undecided:

Stuff flourescens under light. What difference is there if it is collimated or uncollimated?

It's like asking: Do I have to install a PSU for my computer in order to turn it on?

Ofcourse the stuff will react when the lens is on. How do you think writing letters on GITD surfaces happens? :D

I was talking about the other guy saying to take the lens off.

I was talking about the other guy saying to take the lens off.
He was suggestign taking the lens off so you can have like an UV lamp, which covers a wide area, making flourescent things noticeable.

Does not mean they will not fouresce under collimated beam.

Sorry for confusion! I should have been more clearer.

I'm sorry, yes, that is what I meant. This way you have a nice wide 405nm flashlight-like beam

and for pot-modding, I used a small (like, 1mm) flathead and honestly, after picking at the pot for 30 minutes, I didn't think I even got it to budge. If you look on o-like's site, you will see the information about the blu-ray driver, and where to locate the pot. I recommend either keeping it stock, or if you HAVE to mod it, to do very very very small budges. I haven't yet been able to pull it apart, I went through the button hole.
