Na. Thats to sloppy you will end up twisting something.

PM Me. I have 1 extra reflector that i acutely saved from my 12X build a long time ago that is the same as in my original build.

This is so weired iam going to order another light just to see what i will get. As Of right now iam going to add a Note in the OP saying.

Iam also going to PM LtKernelPanic and see if he would be kind enough to open the front of the light to see what his reflector looks like.

Also I will add a Note in the OP saying that i cannot guaranty the same reflector s i go in 3X my lights and 4x if you include the SS version 12x i have.

Edit iam also going to PM Flaminpyro as well since he has these as kits as well but makes a heatsink for them.:)

I took the head off mine and I can't get the %^#@ pill out so I can see the back of the reflector. Looking at the front of the reflector it looks like yours but without seeing the back I can't be 100% sure. Is there a way I can get the pill out without destroying the light? After fixing the switch I actually like this little light. If there is I can take it apart tomorrow after work.

I'm eventually going to make this into a PHR based laser after I order another one of these to keep as a flashlight but that won't be for a few more weeks so I'd rather not destroy it quite yet. I wonder if the different reflector has anything to do with ultrafire no longer offering the holster with them? I'm curious now did yours come with a holster Ezcal? I wonder if you got a "new" model if it didn't. Maybe they changed parts suppliers?

Yep, both of mine came with holsters. I got the pill out pretty easily, they just unscrew and mine weren't in very tightly.

Thank you buddy. If you dont feel comfortable taking it apart right now dont do it. All you would have to do is take something pointy and put it on one of the 2 outside soldering points of the + contact of the stock driver and spin it counter clock Wise.:)

A picture of the front of the light reflector might do it. as well.

LOL. I didn't even think to try and unscrew it. :banghead: My other lights they just slide out. I tried turning it but it wouldn't move. Was there a trick to getting it to turn? I'm guessing like the switch pill I'll have to find something small and pointed to stick in the small holes in the board and use as leverage to turn it. I'll poke around in the garage for something after work. Only have a half day tomorrow (woot!) but I still have to be up at 5:30 (ugh) so any further attempts will have to be tomorrow.

Edit: looks like they put a solder blob over most the holes. Bastards! Definitely a project for tomorrow.

Yea honestly Im debating rather to just buy a heatsink extra and another driver to run it when I get my a-140 from a GB in the next week or so :p my flashlights still havent came yet but im glad this is all getting sorted out before i get mine. The saying "learn from others mistakes" could never be more true (not that any ones making mistakes per-say) this just makes it a lot easier on my end (= Got the email my phr and module was shipped from Hightech deals.

Hopefully I just end up with the same effin reflector I dont have a dremel kit.. So if any one knows of cheap sufficient dremles onsale for the holiday season lemme know!

Ok I can't leave well enough alone. I put a little pressure on one of the blobs and the thing spun like a top. The reflector is not like the one in the OP. It looks like Ezcal's. I don't think this new style will work unfortunately at least not reversed like in the OP. It might be worth asking in BST if anyone is making or is interested in making heatsinks for what would be a nice little host.

It looks like it would still be possible to drill it out with a steady hand. Might be just as easy to see if one of the other LPF members would possibly make and sell heatsinks for these nice little hosts too.

It's not the drilling that was a problem - though it was slightly annoying - it's the fact that the reflector isn't the same diameter along the entire length, and it won't stay steady in the host. That's the biggest problem I can see, anyway. It's also less mass, which means less heat absorption.

Thanks. I think DX has changed there stock in matter of a few days of each other or there all mixed up. Also could be that there send the light that they sell here DealExtreme: $13.28 UltraFire Cree C3 Flashlight with 2xAA Extension Tube Bundle since your ordering the extension tub with it I have another one coming on the way so i will fallow up but i will leave a Note in the OP that the Reflector might not be the same as mine.

Ok one last post before I literally fall asleep on the keyboard.

Ezcal - as soon as I hit post I realized exactly what you said and edited my post. You were just quicker on the draw. :p Looks like this host may require a custom heatsink now.

Lazeerer-

That could be. I'm half tempted to order just the light without an extra tube to see what happens.

Any updates? I'm sure shipping is extra slow right now with Christmas having just passed. I still have a PHR diode sitting in a module on my desk mocking me*.

*ok that's sort of a lie. That diode is for a pen I need to get around to building but I do have another PHR sled that was intended for this build.

I need a heatsink! Any one have an extra from cree c3 hosts or even an extra reflector? Willing to pay decent money so I can just finish this off without having to machine a piece of aluminum myself! Thanks!

Sorry for the late response.:)

Flaminpyro sell a kit for this build as well as single heatsinks. Hit him up here: >>> Flaminpyro Kit/ Single Heatsink
