Read the specs a bit further down - the first part is typical rip off bullshit:

Maximum Optical power output: 90mW,

Delivered Optical power output: 60-70mw typical.

Cures BLUE set glues the best, also cures most UVA set glues!

Est. Diode Lifetime: 10,000 hours at 100mW

Power source: 1.5VDC at at least 200ma current sourcing ability

Gentlemen,

You know neither the seller or the type of module/driver in the auction. The seller is reputable and the module/driver are of a type you do not yet know about.

Peace,
dave

**EDIT** I'm sure that if you ask Chris (heruursciences) about it, he will explain it to you.

Just a typical DIY style blu-ray unit being advertised for a specific use. I don't quite get what is so unbelivable about it, although "AN INDUSTRIAL LASER MODULE DESIGNED FOR TACK CURING GLUES" is definitely a bit of a stretch. These eBay surplus-style sellers are all about taking a truth and stretching it near its breaking point anyway.

Actually, that's a pretty cool use of it. I never thought about curing glues with it.

Sorry - I could have worded my post better.

My negative comment related to the wording of the pitch rather than the specs themselves, which seem fine to me. My problem is with the bit that says: "...power density can be set for anything from.0.1W per square centimeter to well over a KILOWATT per square centimeter." How is this not grossly misleading? I'm always happy to be proven wrong.

Oh no! I totally agree with that. "Per centimeter" power density measurements have very little value to the "normal" consumer of these articles. They will NEVER "fool" knowledgeable people. They are not meant to. However, in a competitive market, one must find the "sell" that works while still finding a way to work within eBay's restrictions.

Peace,
dave
