Hello my name is Phillip

I am 17 years of age

Hobbies: Scripting,Coding,Learning new things, Fukin up stuff, and lasers of course.

Dislike: My job, Rude People, "known it all forum people",Grammar using, and being banned, oh i did forget i hate when people do stupid things which causes more laws.

Location: Dallas Texas

Reason for joining: The reason i am joining i have always wanted to build my own laser after i seen kipkays video from like very long time ago. But at the time i didn't have a job or any kind of smarts but i have tried many times. Ive broken a 360 open and ripped the shit out of the DVD Player, Broken 2 5mW Laser pointers to see if any laser diode or anything laser i can use, and my job has even pinched in to help me do it but they didn't do it right either.

Fears from this site: Losing my eye sight, Losing alot of money, Getting hit by police, Laser get stolen and used for the wrong uses at school or work, Going to jail, Site being closed down due to the reason lasers are cool, and being :banned: by one of my first time in the forum typing world.

Well thats all i have to say i guess tata for now and i already have 3 post that i made before i did this thing.

Welcome to the forum, and let me put some of your fears to rest;

-You won't lose your eyesight if you make sure you are always protecting yourself with safety goggles when using lasers >5mW. A great place to get medium-to-high quality protection goggles with OD>4 at a great price is from here
-You may "spend" a lot of money, but IMO it's not "lost" if it's being invested it in high-powered lasers.
-Police. You have no worries there, unless you are doing something illegal and/or stupid (careless) with your lasers. The cops would never knock on your door for ordering (or receiving) a laser, (maybe for shining it at a plane [which is a Felony]) they have much better things to do.
-As for someone stealing a laser from you. Perhaps, if you are careless, or if you are "bragging" or "showing it off" at school, someone may steal it. I know that (personally) if I ever bring any of my lasers anywhere (friend's house, club, movie, work), I never leave them unattended, and don't show "the wrong people" my lasers.
-You will not go to jail for having a high-powered laser in your posession unless you do something "stupid" with your laser in public.
-This site won't be closed because "lasers are cool", you don't need to worry about that one.
-And, you won't get "banned" if you foloow the rules, and act maturely.

Again, welcome

Huh. The spending a lot of money thing, I can sympathize with... But I honestly think that LPF leading to "jail" is, for one, a bit of a jump, and two, really only a problem if you, you know, do something that you know you shouldn't.

But that's all a matter of personal accountability.

Same goes for your eyesight. "Lasers don't blind people, stumbling around a room with a laser and no goggles and accidentally reflecting it off of a doorknob into said person's face, blinds people."

Well. I don't want to say "yes", because I don't feel like they would provide the necessary protection.
I recommend purchasing a pair of OD>3 (Optical Density greater than 3) safety goggles specifically for protection from lasers. Remember: Green goggles to protect your eyes from Red lasers, Yellow goggles to protect your eyes from Bluray lasers, and Red goggles to protect your eyes from Green lasers
But, welders goggles would surely provide more protection than regular sunglasses or no eye-protection at all, but, in reality, they really aren't "laser safe".
I recommend putting your laser on a shelf until you purchase laser safety goggles. Remember that $29 is a small price to pay to keep your eyesight (which you will probably need for the rest of your life).
