Howdy,
After Wicked Lasers pulled down their forum (probably too many people complaining about the arctic), and after browsing the internet, I came across you guys, and I think this is the best place for me to share and talk about my Arctic Spyder III G2.

Thought I would say hi and introduce myself.

I have an Arctic 3 also, have you got any other lasers to compare it next to?

Also...you think about getting the new "Sith" model they recently released? lol

There are plenty lasers here with power that surpasses that of the artic 3. Take a look at the 445 board.

Yeah, in my lurking I've already discovered the 445 nm board. I'm actually very happy with my Arctic. So far the only problem I've had was it shutting down on high power, but that was due to a bad end cap with too high resistance.

That, and right now my lens has a sort of ring thing around it, which I might post about later.

But overall, I love the design of the Arctic, I love the twist-onable lenses, and so far wicked lasers has done me well. (Despite the infinitely long wait for the Arctic)

As far as I can tell the Arctic was an unprecedented laser for the price at the time it was released. Many people thought it was too good to be true, and in many ways it was... however Wicked Lasers was still able to deliver a product that came pretty close to specifications. Honestly, not too bad.

As far as the lens is concerned, I have never had a laser that didn't get its lens messed up somehow, and this is not because I don't take care of the laser. I'm going to have to figure out something with the lens, maybe this forum can help...

But other than that, I love my Arctic :D

Fried Chicken - You've been brainwashed by Wicked marketing:whistle:

You came to the right place though... deprogramming begins now, don't worry it's a good thing:D

As far as the lens is concerned... have you tried cleaning it? (Tip 1: Don't use a cotton swab. Tip 2: Research the subject via search;))

Anyway, Welcome to LPF:wave:

Haha, of course I've cleaned the lens. I have a special miniPro II pen from Wicked Lasers of course, and as far as I can tell, it works wonders on lenses... But I still have some weird ring thing around the beam. I'll get pics up later, but probably in a dedicated thread.
