Hey everybody,
I'm Danny from NV. Thought I'd introduce myself and thank y'all for welcoming me into your world. Just recently got interested in lasers last week. Saw a 532nm at a music festival and had to have one. Looked online and at LPF and couldn't believe what's out there. Far more impressive than the $25 laser I saw. So now, I'm just real excited to learn about these amazing devices and, hopefully, with a little research buy something I can really be proud of. Anyways, thanks again guys!

It sure is a great hobby and field. A great way to poke around and learn is to use the white search bar at the bottom of the page. Enjoy, have fun and be safe :)

Wow. I have never noticed that search bar. I have been clicking search up at the top since I started here. Lol.

Welcome, Danny! It's a great forum, and we are getting new, awesome diodes quite often these days. Perfect time to get into the laser scene! If you ever have any questions, feel free to message me. I have built about 20 or so lasers now, so I don't know everything, but I will point you in the direction of a more experienced member if you have questions I can't answer. :beer:

I, too, started because of a cheap 532nm laser. My wife bought one for me, and it was super cool, but wouldn't burn even the blackest material. I decided I would build my own, and I have been building just as many as I can afford to since. Lol.

I have a green 532 nm laser i just got interested a little bit ago man they are way better than those stupid walmrat 1 dollar lasers.

Jeez!! You people sure know how to make a guy feel welcome. I really appreciate all the help. Especially you, Tater May. Willing to put up with my questions and let me message you is pretty cool. If anyone's interested, I think I'm gonna go with the HL 532nm 300mW from laserbtb for my first laser. Sounds like a real winner and I can't thank you guys enough for "pointing" me in the right direction☺️ Almost bought a 500mW from laser-pointers.com for $90. Glad I didn't make that mistake and I owe that all to you guys. Thanks again!

Welcome to the forum Danny. Lots of good information, and good people here.
300 mw 532 is a very powerful laser. Couple tips. Get some good quality safety googles.
I believe Laserbtb will install an IR filter on your unit for $1. You'll want the filter
as 532nm lasers put out iR radiation.
Few things are cooler then a high powered 532. :)

Thanks for the info Davidx. I'll definitely take your advice. Im pretty excited to get it, but kinda nervous about liking it TOO much. I can see this becoming a pretty expensive addiction.
