Hello everyone, I actually first visited this forum regularly in early 2008 but never had enough time to procure the necessary materials to build my own laser, I never made an account, mostly just read threads passively. But I was going through my old stuff recently and found my old soldering iron and assorted junk, as I've been learning electronics recently and was looking for ideas on what to mess around with, and was reminded of the world of lasers and thought this'd be a great opportunity to start learning more about them and finally build a laser of my own. Signed up for an account and here I am.

I can say I understand this stuff a lot more now that I have a bit more experience in Physics and Electronics. Hopefully I'll eventually be able to contribute something to the forum as well.

Also, hah, my account name is actually economics related (market capitalization), but I just realized it fits for electronics as well, micro-farad capacitor, or maybe a really small capacitor?

Welcome to the forum! :) Please read the stickies before asking a lot of questions. It's part of the LPF initiation. If you follow this simple advice you will make a lot of friends here. Be very cautious of lasers that you purchase or build or you will injure your eye sight. Quality eyewear is a must for proper use of every laser. Enjoy your time here!
