Hi guys,

I'm Raymond, age 28, residing in the Philippines.

Long time lurker (browsing the forums daily for a few months now absorbing stuff) so I somewhat know how to behave and who's who but decided to sign in as I hope to give back information I may be able to offer.

I've been into electronics as far as I can remember and I have a couple other expensive hobbies like car audio and airsoft but I also like flashlights and lasers.

some lasers I have are a few labbies and some handhelds. I wanted a blue laser and as with most, almost went as far as buying the Arctic. Decided the smartswitch is too much hassle plus how well WL is known here, building my own was a no brainer.

I also have built an Ophir based LPM so if anyone nearby wants to have their laser metered, let me know. I'd like to meet other laser enthusiasts too.

As for flashlights, I only have a few cheapies plus Nitecore P25, Fenix E20, UF K10, an SSC P7 dive light and a few more DIY ones.

If you want to know more about me or the things I do, please feel free to browse my website (DIY Electronics)

Hope to seamlessly blend into the forums and get to know you guys more.

edit: check out my 450nm pen style laser using 2x 10440 in parallel doing 3.9Watts :D

Welcome fellow Pinoy! Enjoy your stay.

I just browsed your webpage and you have quite and extensive list of projects. Your work looks very professional. I like that.

I noticed that in your Li-ion charger project you have a nice solder side pcb. Did you use Liquid Tin?

Thanks! no liquid tin. I spread a small amount of flux on the entire PCB and coated it with solder using an iron. Tedious but makes the PCB retain its shiny appearance.

Welcome to the forum. :)

Good job on that LPM! Nice and tidy. I like the cover you made for it.
@Zeebit, it is DIY
DIY Laser Power Meter
Thanks! I wanted a portable one that I can bring around when shopping for lasers without worrying of damaging the sensor. :)

Understood, I did check out your website though, some really cool work :D Nice to have you on board. I liked your power supply solution for the HID bike light and the 3.9 W pen laser Sweeet

Oh the light up power button is something I've been wanting to do myself, it's nice to see how they're put together.

Is the LED actually part of the switch you're using or is it part of the driver you linked to? Is that your driver? Nice work all around :)

none of the above. :D I soldered a tiny 0603 SMD LED beside a tact switch and wired that to the driver. You can use a lighted switch but I can't find one small enough so I used the smallest tact switch that I have and attached the LED to the side.

Gotcha :) Thank you, that's a cool solution, I had the same issue looking for a small enough switch too. So the driver can just power everything, nice. Thanks for sharing, appreciate it
