Hey XRazer. Maybe give us some details, and possibly some pictures of your previous build -- and what you're looking at for your next one? Driver, lens, host, etc?

Sounds decent... What current were you running at, the one that went zombie?

yup.
I set it current at 1.1A.
i seem its ESD Damage.
(that day i take out the diode and reset the current to 1.3A and my friends are without ESD Protection and touching my diode):tsk:

Yup, that would do it.... What I usually do when working on a build like that, is I'll take a piece of wire and wrap it around both leads while I work.. (Remember to take it off before you put it back together though!) -- That I think has saved me a few times, also, in situations where I'd "rather kill the driver than the diode", in the case of an expensive diode, during wiring.

I accidentally disconneced a wire from a diode once while the driver was running, maybe for a millisecond, and the capacitive buildup killed a $150 diode. ...

It's something we all face!!
