Good call, Sanwu was my first pre-built laser and aside from an issue I had the company is great. You may find that as you buy from quality companies that cheapies will disappoint you.

Welcome!

Oh yes, I'm trying my best now to buy any cheapies, I've learned my lesson on other things. I'll take a look and see what I find!

Shipping will be an issue for some of the ones you listed.
Sanwu.org is an excellent option. Very high quality. Size and power output choices too. They have a presence on the forum as well.
If cheapies are what your after then your really just gambling. It may work for a long time or a few hours. I suggest a $50 cap on gambling with cheapies.

What do you think about the Pocket Series from Sanwu? Minimum is $50, I can also choose different lenses (3 lenses, G2, or G7). Also I can choose the power. Standard is 650nm 250mW.

Sanwu is a great company. They got a "pocket" lasers that sell for under a 100.00 depending on the wave length/color you want. Their quite indestructible, well worth the money? Welcome to the forum, enjoy and be safe ( and grab yourself some safety glasses first thing you'll be needing them)edit------------ see your looking at the pockets from Sanwu can't go wrong there

Thank you! Yes, I am currently looking at them and they seem to be of very good quality! I'll most likely go with that laser. Until then, I need to find some safety glasses on one of the laser pointer sites haha.

I own the pocket series laser from Sanwu, and it is top notch quality just like their other products. Though there was a quality control issue with one of the members who bought it mine was fine and runs great. I'd recommend the 500mW 445nm version, it's fun to see that much light coming from such a small piece. Though if you do opt for that you'll have to watch the temperature as it can overheat if you run it for too long, but you'll know when to turn it off when you're holding it.

Oh ok, I now know what I'll be getting then! I do have one laser, a cheapie. I'm sure you've seen some around, the "Laser 301". Mine has had issues every which way, mostly with how long it will run on a quote unquote charged battery. I'm ready to upgrade haha. Thanks for all the help!

Hello, welcome to the forums!

The first pre built I bought was the Sanwu pocket 650nm 250mw. You dont need glasses for it 100%, unless your eyes are very sensitive. Just use common sense and don't shine it in your eyes or at something reflective. If you get the 500mw 445nm pocket though I would recommend glasses for sure.

You can see the red beam of the 650nm in dim lit areas or in smoke/fog very well. I havn't tried to burn anything with it, other than melting a small hole in a black trash bag.

It is remarkable craftsmanship, The guys at Sanwu know their stuff! I am planning to buy more from them. Can't go wrong there.

Also if you dont want to spend that much, Sanwu sells the generic Green pointers in the black 303 style hosts. I picked up the 80mw 532nm pointer from them and it is great, only 19$ and a nice visible green beam even in low light conditions. And its not so bright that u need to worry about safety glasses, so long as you are smart about what you shine it at. Black or dark colored surfaces are your best bets for a safe termination point so you can enjoy the beam and not have a crazy bright dot.

Be safe and enjoy!

Yes the 303 is great. Could run till the battery died. I didn't have an issue with host to beam alignment either. Kind of wish the power button wasn't momentary.

Check Fasttech, they've got a 303 with a tailcap on/off latching switch.
