New to LPF

Hi everyone! I've recently signed up to LPF but have been coming and going to the site over the years. finally felt like it was time to create an account I've always loved messing around with my friends Arctic spyder and have small power green lasers.
For starters, I was wondering what you guys would suggest as a first build? I'd like it to be do-able for newcomers such as i, and im willing to spend 175$ give or take! And where would i get all these materials and put them together? AHH so much to learn!!
some aspects of the laser i'd like are
-blue
-not to difficult to build (i have soldering knowledge and metal and wood working, if that'll help at all )

^^ If you don't wanna risk expensive parts for your first high power laser I can do a build for you if you'd like And I live close enough that we could save on shipping costs, I'm in IL like every other weekend anyway. Just saying
