I'm new here. Greetings to all! I'm half filipino, I live in the U.S. but my dad lives in the Philippines. I was for some reason assuming that green lasers would be cheaper in the philippines or asia compared to here in the U.S. (Please correct me if i am wrong) So I was thinking of having my dad mail me one from the philippines. Where can he get one there? He lives in Makati, Manila. So any where close to that would be great. do you know of a place that sells a variety of Milliwatts? preferably a reputable place with reputable products. What are the price ranges there? right now im aiming for at least a 100mw which can be had here in the U.S. for $20. Any help would be great.Thanx guys.

A laser that claims 100mW for $20 will not put out 100mW. What the seller claims and
what a laser actually produces can be drasitcally different. Dishing out the extra coin
and buying from a trusted and respected seller is the only way to know for sure that
your getting what you pay for.

If you guys can send me a link on where to order a reputable one that would be great. I don't wanna go too crazy here price wise. I wanna just own one that's from a reputable company that's all.
and also if anybody can tell me if it would be cheaper in the philippines and where to get one there, that would be great.
Thanx Laser People!

If your content on getting a green at 100mW you can go with optos green pen.

Optotronics Product Details

Very repectable company and a competitive price considering the level of QC on there lasers

If you want cheap, but decent quality and a warranty (plus fun star-caps), get this one from Rayfoss.
If you want a sturdy focusable green that is new to the market, I would get this laser from O-like.
Personally, I really like waterproof lasers, so I have a few. I recommend this one. it is waterproof and very sturdy (hard to break/overheat).

Welcome to the forum.
I agree with all the above statements. (regarding true 100mW for $20)
You are going to have to pay at least $50 to get one that will last.

thanks for the welcome and help so far guys. I clicked on the links. thanks. I really don't want to spend more than $30 for a 100mw. I would love to own a 500mw but i know i won't find one for $30. for $30 i would want one that's seen from miles and miles away, has a visible beam, one that pops balloons, burn paper, light mathes etc, kills bugs, the whole 9 basically.

Well. For $30, you will be hard-pressed to find a laser that is actually 100mW.
Your best bet is to go with an LEDShoppe green 50mW ($25.00) and hope that it is over-spec. You will surely be able to see the beam for miles, pop balloons, and will be able to melt thin black plastic and tape, but lighting a match with only 50mW is quite difficult, and you aren't going to kill any bugs with only 50mW. :yh:
