Well... I always loved lasers... Like the little red ones. Then my step brother got a bulbous green one that fascinated me ever since... I always wanted a laser, and the only one I ever got was a statue of liberty pen that had a cheap laser at the tip... still had fun with it though. ANyways, I come here trying to get to know lasers and find which one is my special one to love... Which is basically any strong one. I want a cheap powerful sonuvabitch. Nothing too crazy... I don't want a Halo 3 Spartan Laser that'll blow the hell outta cars.... Well yeah I do actually.. but I don't have the money for that.. I could definitely settle for A LOT less. But... that's about it. Personal life... well I live in Tampa, Florida. I was born in Los Angeles and used to live in Detroit. I'm 17 years old. About it with me.

... and obviously a newb with lasers.

Hello there. This is one powerful sonuvabitch:

Although since he is 2008's World's Strongest Man, I doubt his frying pan-bending skills will come cheap. As a matter of fact I'm sure it would be quite expensive to have him bend your pans.

Anyways, welcome to the forums. Check out the buy/sell section if you want an idea of what you can put together yourself, or maybe buy something already made to start out with. There's lots of great people here that have posted useful things, and can answer your questions. Read up and have fun.

Thanks, I try  ;D

Optotronics seems to be the Cadillac of laser pointers and handhelds.

But the comment "I could definitely settle for a LOT less." leads me to believe he won't be paying that price for one.

Ha never know. I just want something that is bright and something that can burn... Even if I have to get one of each.

Shooey,
welcome to LPF.

So, you want a powerful laser? You can easily build one yourself and save a ton of money. This site contains everything that you need; from the necessary information on how you put it together to suppliers for the parts you will use.

You can do it! It's lots of fun to DIY... and burning things with something you made yourself is very satisfying.

Good luck.
