It has nothing to do with being feminist, which I'm really not. The real point of my username and signature is because most of the people on here are male, and are into all the technical stuff and building lasers. As for me, like most women, I am not a "technical" type, and have no clue how to build a laser.

If others here thought I was male, and that I didn't know how to do things like that, or have a total understanding of all the technical ins and outs of lasers, they'd think I was just stupid or something.

That's the point of it. Not to breed hostility.

Wow.. Pretty crazy. I wouldn't think "oh here's a girl she must be clueless" in almost any situation. The fact you thought that way shows a pretty low self image as a female.

Alright, this whole thing needs to stop. Were a community, not enemies. Let's all cut our differences out of the situation and be friendly, like a community should be.

IMO one of the biggest problems with our education, government, and society in general is that it's geared toward the lowest common denominator.

Let's not do this on LPF, and try to treat each other with respect.
