Hi from Wisconsin

Hey everybody, my good friend referred me here and I'm starting to realize that I have just scraped the surface of this hobby.

My friend got me interested in lasers about 6 months ago and I can't get enough.
I am amazed at some of the ideas and modifications people have posted about here.
I'm very eagar to learn more about every aspect of lasers and related subjects.
I'd have to say the 405nm spectrum has sparked the most interest for me.
I'm extremeley determined to make the worlds most powerful handheld 405nm laser!!!

The next two weeks will be about reading for me.
Any helpful comments will greatly appreciated.

Hey steve! I'm sure you'll enjoy it here, doesn't seem like you'll turn out to be an idiot (given the knowledge and reputation laser smith has)

With the 405nm, on record the highest is about 1W. It shouldn't be tough to exceed that with tri-diode hosts and combining the beams, however don't expect any 405 to make that kind of power, I wouldn't push one past 600mW's.

If you have questions about DPSS lasers feel free to ask me, I have fun with those things (and they last longer in my hands historically).
