Hi from NYC

Hi everyone. NYC laser newb checking in here. I started to get an interest for laser pointers after I seen some that can burn stuff! I was amazed! I wanted to make one myself. I found this forum while researching about lasers and I have kept coming back to read more and learn new things. I have been reading for several weeks now and I'm anxious to get started on my first simple build. I want to make sure I understand everything there is to understand before I begin.

I started ordering some parts (thanks flaminpyro for the extractor) and will begin soon. Im an undergrad student studying electrical engineering and I understand a lot of the stuff I am reading here. I think this is one of the best sites for DIY laser hobbyists.

So just saying Hi!

PS. Oh, and if anyone knows where I can get a good deal on PHR diodes that will be great!
