I'm trying to make a blue ray lazer!

Here's my shopping list:

1.) Aixiz 12x30mm module.
2.) A 405nm diode, the biggest one I can find. I want a 12x or 8x but I'll probably get a 6x, 200mw one like the GGWH20L.
3.) A heatsink.
4.) RKSTR's microdrive.
5.) The 405-G-1 lense from jayrob.
6.) lense covers.
7.) 405nm goggles.
8.) ESD gloves.
9.) A 3s 2200mah LiPo battery. (11.1v)
10.) Momentary switch
11.) Wire leads.
12.) Whatever I haven't thought of yet.

Does anyone have suggestions?

Thanks!

Welcome to the forum.

All of these things can be found in the B/S/T or Laser Pro Shop, sections here.
Use an ESD wrist-strap, not gloves.
I also do not see a Soldering iron (temperature controlled),Rosin-core Solder and Flux.

Maybe you have these already?:undecided:
If so, then it sound like you are almost done with the easy part.(deciding what you want to build and getting a list together)

Good luck!!

Thanks!

My "host" would be my module right? The housing or case?

That's number 1 (AixiZ) on my shopping list. Unless you mean a flashlight housing, I don't plan to use a flashlight housing, just a battery, switch and module.

I already have a Hakko 936 and all the equipment I'll need, I'm pretty sure I've got the equipment and electronics experience to put this together without damaging the components too much.

Thanks for those links, that's really helpful.

I have one question; where can I pick up BR diodes that are greater than 6x?

Yes a host is like a modified flashlight or one of the custom ones made by ppl in the laser community like the Kryton.

Yag I have an 8x that I want to sell. Its already in a host from Jayrob. Its the sidebutton host. Flex drive and everything. I'm willing to sell it for 350 dollars. It has the 405g1 lens from Jayrob.

I had it in the 18650 host and it was pushing 396mws of power. Thanks to Jayrob for testing that for me.

Edit: I bought the materials I think in December 2009.

Yes I have a suggestion for you, forget the "AAA" cells they are worthless if you want small, stick with the "AA" cells you will be much happer in the long run ;)
You can get all kinds of diodes fron Scopeguy20 he also sells some good laser safety glasses, but for the 8x and 12x you will have to buy a blu-ray writer and take the diode out your self or have someone like me do it for you if your not sure you want to chance a $200.00 diode to your removing skills.

By 3s 2200mah LiPo battery, I meant this: ProTek R/C 3S "Supreme Power" Li-Poly 30C Battery Pack (11.1V/2200mAh) [PTK-LP-2200-3S30]

I also bought 2 of these heatsinks just now: 12mm Motor Heatsink [MO213] - $1.00 : Zagi - The Original R/C EPP Foam Wing

And everything else I have just now bought, except for an ESD wrist-strap and protective glasses.

Between Modwerx, HighTechDealz, jayrob, rkcstr and ebay I managed to get everything I needed, plus enough materials to put together another 300mw 20x red laser in this heatsink module.

The big blue ray laser I bought was this one: 405nm GGW-H20L 6x Blu Ray Diode in Aixiz Module +650nm LCC diode [GGW-H20L] - $56.82 : High Tech DealZ, Simplifying the LASER Hobby!

Plus Jayrob's lens kit, heatsinks and batteries off Ebay.

All for under $250.00 So I think I got a pretty good deal. :)
