Be sure to read the rules and stickies too. ;)

I have included a handy guide to assist you in finding what you need. ;)

Awesome, nice to see another UK member on here! Welcome - read the stickies, search around, and I'm sure you will find plenty of information. Quick tip: often you might find it easier to use a google search with something like site:laserpointerforums.com rather than using vBulletin's built-in search, vB search is limited and not nearly as good as Google is.

Welcome to the forum.
As has been started above, reading and studying up before you buy, build, will help you out in a big way.
First you want to pick a wavelength = color. Some are best for burning (405nm-Blu-Ray) and some are blindingly bright, used as star pointers (532nm=Green)
And good ol' (650nm=Red) is a good wavelength to start with because it is cheap. And it burns well also.LOL
Enjoy!

Hi Stuart,

More UKers! I'm loving it!

Welcome Stuart and enjoy. Once you've inwardly digested all the search feature can feed you...

... and still have questions, then you can ask! It can be daunting and hard work at first but it's well worth the effort and people will appreciate that you've put the time in. There are some with brains the size of planets hereabouts and they give help freely.

Have fun. But eye-safe fun!

M

Welcome to the forum!!! You'll certainly find all the laser info you need here, as well as parts, diodes, accessories, etc. in our buy/sell/trade and group buy areas. As you build and buy powerful lasers, please remember the need for eye protection and safe laser useage practices.
