Hello from "sunny" England

Hey everyone, I have been a lurker for a little while and want to get cracking on building my first laser!, i thought id write a bit about my self for anyone who has the time to listen:

Location: "sunny" England - Milton Keynes
martial status: in a relationship
hobbies: scuba diving, customizing my car, making fireworks, and of course lasers from now on!
Occupation: Research and Development of fireworks!! yes i design fireworks!! I am only 18 ha ha...one of the coolest jobs you can get in England i reckon! lol

your probably wondering how an 18 year old is actually in the research and development department at a firework company...well i have been doing it for a few years before hand, started when i was about 15 making my own pyrotechnics, very safe of course, nothing dangerous, and then managed to get a job doing it when i finished school, what a massive bonus getting to do my hobby as a job!, but that's also the reason on why i am here, because my job is my hobby i need a new hobby to pass the evenings lol, so thus i come to why i am writing this...

i hope everyone enjoys my company, i am quite a relaxed guy and can take a joke

Welcome to the forum! You have come to the right place, there is tons of info here regarding the construction of lasers. Have you decided what laser that you wish to build first? You will need safety goggles for it and should plan on getting these as your first aquisition. Accidental reflections to the eye are not forgiving, and for some uses, goggles are mandatory. You will probably wind up building more than one laser, I did.
