Hello from Ohio

Hello everyone,

LPF is a fantastic forum. I've been lurking for a while and have tried to read the stickies.

I have many interests. I like motorcycles, high power rockets and photography. I have tinkered with a small 532nm laser, but have no experience with anything bigger.

I am looking forward to learning here. My plan is to start building a 450nm laser in the near future. I can run, and have access to, mills and lathes. I used to build machinery and can operate CNC mills and lathes. I understand basic electrical circuits, KVL, have a nice multimeter and know a little about programming. I am starting a second career, and I am a fulltime student. I am far to old to be a kid.

Having said all of that, I realize that I am a newbie here! :crackup:
I will try not to step on toes as I learn.

From one newb to another, welcome. This forum really does seem to have a very strong sense of community, which is really encouraging.

Sounds like after a little while getting up to speed we should all be on the lookout for a rocketpowered motorcycle with laser-illuminated photography mounts!

Even if not, you're sure to have fun around here. I think as long as we take a moment to search for the easy answers to our dumb questions BEFORE annoying the gurus we should be about set.
