@hakzaw1: LaserFreeks? sorry but never even heard about it

about the glasses, 500? I think that's a bit too much for me
I better go with 2 pairs a bit cheaper ones

you could get two sets cheaper that will cover all 'colors' ..

just be aware of side hits-- a beam could go over one's shoulder and reflect into your eyes from the inside of the lens--it almost the same as a mirror=---when you think about it. so side shields are important.. welcome
Cool, thanks for sharing. I'll take a look on them later. However seeing the specs you quoted VLT will be horrible I guess. Still they do not protect against 589 nm, so I need second glasses anyway.

SQunX: Also considering green 303 I assume it is 532 nm - be careful as these might not be IR filtered. Even the IR has different beam characteristic, it might be dangerous for prolonged exposure at close range even with glasses on (if not covering IR). I mean if you are trying to burn something or shine it on something more reflective.

Yes, the green one is advertised as a 532nm.

Uhm another question. Have anyone a recommendation for a driver for my lpc836 diode?
Because I don't want to fry it right at the beginning.
Are one from a chinese ebay seller okay?

maybe this: 300-700mW 638nm 808nm 660nm Orange Laser Diode Driver Power Supply 2.5A Output | eBay

or this one: 1pc 0-800mA Oclare 700mw Orange Red Laser Diode LD Driver Power Supply 3v-4.5v

its hard for me to find a driver for this power range that isn't too expensive

Welcome SqunX. That's a touchy diode. Case negative if I remember. I've killed a few learning the hard way. Luckily they are cheap. Get a quality driver. You can always repurpose it to another diode. The nano drive might be a good one. You will need a test load and DMM to set a driver with a potentiometer. The custom Google search bar on the bottom of the forum page works well.

Default Re: Hello from me

That's the problem with using a 808nm diode (case positive) drive with a case negative diode. You ABSOLUTELY have to isolate the driver and diode from the case of the host. If you can do that, they will work. I think it was Pman who used the drivers from cheap 532nm modules from Fasttech to drive LPC diodes.

Yes, do be careful with those 303's. They most certainly put out more than 5mW 3D!
