Hello Everyone,
My name is Brad and I'm just really looking into lasers. I've read through TONS of posts, I have a pretty good handle on the do's and don'ts. Coming here saved me from WL. And I don't have eye-pro because I don't have a laser, but it will be the first thing I buy if I ever break the 5mW barrier. If my avatar sucks, it's because I made it on my work computer since not having one would be worse than my Microsoft Paint masterpiece.

Now that I've got that out of the way the only laser I ever owned was a little pointer in 2003 when I was in Japan. I don't know where to start and I'm not sure what I would / could do with a laser. BUT I want an excuse to have one. Or two, or maybe 3 (you know to have RGB)
I'm not really interested in making light shows, and I live in Downtown Tampa in a small apartment. I've looked around the site and I just don't know what I would do with a laser other than maybe making my own security system (but even that would be easier / cheap to accomplish buy just buying one) I don't stargaze and high powered lasers aren't something that I want to start messing around with but like I said, I want to have a reason.
I'm no electronics engineer, but I've got a pretty good handle on electric theory (google is my friend)
I'm a sponge for information and am eager to learn about whatever I can because 90% of everything can be used in multiple applications.
So, that's about all I can think of right now. Can't wait to interact with you all and (hopefully) build my first laser with you all!
