I've been lurking for a couple weeks, reading some stickies, perusing the group buy section (I'm frugal and willing to wait so group buys are my favorite way to buy things), and I decided it'd be a good time to join!

I'm a freshman electrical engineer so I hope my course material will be of some use here

The "I want to build a laser" thread was really helpful and I'm thinking about starting with a blu-ray diode based build.

Anyway, glad to be here and I'll take any advice you want to offer (I already bought laser glasses)

Welcome to the forum! EE is very useful in the hobby, knowing how to test the ripple on those pesky drivers before you kill a diode is a major advantage
