Hi, my name is Tim, i am 16, and i am into electronics/computers and i also do alot of welding, i am always building stuff, i recently put together a laser(well like last year) nothing special, i bought a green laser module online and put it in a case with a power and safety key. i believe it is 50mW but i have no way of knowing for sure. it will pop balloons and you can see it miles away at night (including the beam going across the sky) it also damaged my one eye, i now have a small spot were my vision is blurred

Welcome to the forum.
Sorry to hear about your vision loss.
How did it happen? This info. is helpful (and a warning) to other newcomers.

Let this be a warning to any other newcomers wanting to get in to high powered lasers:

At the very young age of 16,twenglish1 will have to live with this vision defect, for the rest of his life.
There is no second chances when it comes to lasers and your eyes.
Don't even turn on your laser without a pair of safety goggles on!!!

i believe it was from a reflection, i would never shine a laser into my eye that is just stupid, since it happened about a year ago, it has improved since then, there used to be 2 blurred spots now there is only one, and its only noticeable when i am looking at fine detail from far away, or when i look for the spot

If it was a reflection, you might get lucky and have no long term damage:thinking:
Your brain will compensate for the "spot" and learn to ignore it after a while.
Let's pray that it will disappear and not bother you.
If it was off of glass, it might have been only 1/4 of the power of the parent beam.
