Default Hello everyone!

i'm terrible at introductions, so ill just skip right ahead if you dont mind.

I've been lurking for a while now, and enjoyed reading quite a lot nice reviews here.

Today i got a sanwu spikersaber. The build quality is amazing, and i really love the look and feel. The battery tube is slightly too long for my cells, so i use a magnet spacer.

now, the problem: i cant manage to turn it on. i dont even know if it is broken. i put in two good high drain panasonics, freshly charged, and spacers to fit.. and then i try the instructions with the half press.. but the buttin feels quite mushy on the halfway point, so i dont know if i press hard enough, easy to accidentally full press too.. and i dont even know which way is on..

if anyone has helpful suggestions..

thanks in advance!

Hi, when you say you can't turn it on, you mean all you get is a weak beam or nothing at all?

Batteries in correctly? Case negative, positive toward diode.

Edit, try more battery magnets, I had to use quite a few to get mine fired up. Use them next to the tail cap.

Edit again, forgot to wcome you. Welcome!

Welcome to the Forum...
Enjoy your stay.

^^^ Good Advise Above ^^^
Again...
1) Are you sure your batteries are fully charged ??
(checked with a MultiMeter)
2) Are you sure the batteries are inserted in the
correct direction ??
3) Have you contacted the Seller

Default Re: Hello everyone!

Here is the operation sequence from Sanwu's Spiker page, maybe this will help if you haven't yet tried all these steps.

If I recall correctly, some owners have mentioned that the timing of these steps can be a PITA.

BTW, Welcome to LPF!

Multi Operation Modes / Electronic Safety Lock

Single mode
On / off

Multi operations mode
Low power, half power, strobe, full power, SOS and electronics lock.

Turning on and off the laser to switch mode, the laser always starts with the mode that being used for more than three seconds in the last operation.

Electronic lock
To prevent unauthorized use, half-tap the tail switch three times within the first three seconds after the laser is on and wait another three seconds to let the the beam turns dim which indicates the laser has been locked

To unlock
Repeat the same process but half-tap five times instead, wait three seconds after the input

Driver protections
Our driver also comes with several battery protections:
over-discharge protection, over-charge protection and reverse polarity protection

Default Re: Hello everyone!

Thanks everyone! Working now! Turns out, im terrible at clicking.

When it finally turned on, my initial reaction was "not bad at all". turned out that was half power.

As for the magnets, yeah, using a stack of 4!

While i was really impressed with the build quality.. the beam.. well the beam blew me away completely. great optics. that g7 lense really makes a nice, pretty low divergence beam while also being able to focus incredibly well.

now i just have to sit on my hands for a bit so i dont do anything stupid with it..

Now that you have been helped.... please take the time to finish filling out your profile ...especially your location--you could have an experienced pro living close and NEVER know it.....your intro pretty much goes from hello to HELP ME...
WHICH we are happy to do BUT.. a complete profile and proper intro go a long way.... and you will get lots of green rep to boot!
I hope you are in Texas or N Carolina as both have FUN Laser meets coming up --SELEM is NOW (almost) and TEXLEM is last week of Oct.-- being able to meet in person ALSO may be a free way to see the actual power of any laser.

welcome

Glad you got it working, Silenus. Sanwu's are great lasers. Once you learn how to use their multi-mode switch. Enjoy and be safe those Spiker's are rock solid builds, should last you a long long time enjoy and be safe.

Welcome to the forum, silenius. There are many knowledgeable people here willing to help. I noticed you said you used a stack of four magnets to make the batteries you are using reach the contact points. That is not good. Far too many magnets and they can move and cause a short circuit. Try to get the correct batteries for this unit as magnets are not necessary to run this laser.

3W 445nm, and yeah, I already had od4 and od3 glasses that are rated for this wavelength. using od3, because i cant really see the dot in the od4.

well, they cant move any more than a single one could. they are very stong. but i already sourced some longer battery spring that im going to install. as for correct battery, none of my panasonic, samsung, sony or LG 18650 cells are any longer.. and im not going to buy efest

Good to know on the glasses
Just a little food for thought, Eagle has a few pair of glasses with 50% light transmition that are rated at OD5 and OD6. I'm not sure if your using their earlier version OD3 specific for visibility..
Why the knock on Efest's? They aren't bad..

That's not a bad price for those batteries, Dan. I don't need any 26650s right now, but will keep them in mind when I do.
