Hello everyone. I've been lurking here for a good few months and I finally decided to make an account a couple weeks ago. A few of you may have seen me around as I've already made some posts and PM'd quite a few people. Here's a little bit about me.
My name is Mark. I live in Brandon, SD which is a tiny city near Sioux Falls. I've been interested in lasers for a few years, but didn't have a job until this year so I couldn't afford anything more than cheapy ebay lasers
I wash dishes at Pizza Ranch for a living (part time minimum wage...) and occasionally make a little money making electronic music (you can find that here: Undefined Variable - YouTube and here: https://soundcloud.com/undefinedvariable). I live with my parents, my sister, my 2 dogs (1 pug and 1 morkie), and my room-mate/friend (his dad's going through some stuff right now, so he's living with me for a while). I'm also trying to start a home business selling custom desktops, but I haven't really gotten far with that. Some of my biggest interests include computers, smartphones/tablets/etc., open source software, lasers, electronic music, and animation (mostly MLP and Anime). That's all I can come up with off the top of my head, but there's probably more. I don't do much in the way of sports, but I occasionally go out for a walk or a jog.
I recently spent $245 on a laser (<2.3W C6, 445nm, built by Blord), which I would have never even considered before I had a job. I don't know if it was worth it, but it's definitely fun to play around with. I also got some safety glasses and warning decals from NickD070 (innovativelasers.com) and they work great (I point my <2.3W laser directly at them and almost no light passes through at all).
