Default Hello from AZ

Hello Saying high from Arizona, im pretty new to the whole laser scene. I just got a green laser a couple weeks ago and it just gave me a problem, hopefully someone can help, In hopes of not wasting a thread somewhere else im going to ask here.

Its an focusable flashlight type green laser pointer, with a clicking on/off button on the back. No brand name, got it off amazon.com came with a cheap universal charger also.
On the Lasers warning it says <5mW, 532m

Anyways, Just yesterday all of a sudden when I clicked it on their was a misty green circle around the dot, I tried all levels of focus and almost got it to a single dot but it was huge and blurry, I cleaned off both sides of the focusable lense and the actual piece the laser comes out and its still there. Where the actual laser comes out of the pointer it looks like theirs and circular inversion, I don't know how to clean it or how it would of ever got dirty because I've never unscrewed the focusable adaptor all the way.
Any help/advice/suggestions/bad news will be appreciated.
thank you

P.S. I know in other forums ive been on a lot of people don't always look at these, so sorry if I ask this again in the green laser section...

Hey, another person from AZ.

Welcome.

I'll take a look at your photos when you get them up and see if i can help at all. Is the thing you described as a "circular inversion" made out acrylic (plastic)? is it possibly hot glued over the laser aperture or something?

Ok here is the actual pointer, the dot on the wall from 3 feet away focused as best I could (used to be a solid very bright dot) (EDIT: I just realized the picture of the dot got slightly cut off by my camera, and it looks like there is a beam in the pic, but there is not) the other picture is with the focusable attachment off (which I do remember taking off before it got all distorted, and it was also a solid dot) now its just a giant strange looking circle almost like a nightvision picture of the moon.

and yes the circular inversion piece is the acrylic (plastic) piece right on top of the lasers exit point.

one thing I did read after doing research on similar lasers sold on amazon, is some of them are to strong for their own good, and shouldn't be left on for more then 20 seconds because it could burn up or start to melt parts on the inside. I was blown away by how bright this thing was when I first got it, so sadly I think that might have been the case, because a few days before this happened I accidentally left it on for a minute or two...

Looks like sone sort of a lens issue. There is usually an internal lens on the green modules. Coukd be damaged or shifted. They are all just glued together.

So, is their a way to shift or take the lense off safely to check it? I didn't mess with this part because I don't know much about the structural strength of the construction.

Also say somehow the acrylic/plastic center that looks inverted is dirty, what's the best tool/solution to clean it with? I don't know if theirs something special that works better, I have some sealed wet wipes for glasses that I used on the focusing aperture which worked fine, but I did not try it on the tiny plastic piece connected to the pointer, I didn't know if it would damage it.
