Hi all. Stumbled upon this forum a few days ago and am really happy with the information i have found in the beginner builders guides. Just wanted to thank the creators of those threads and had a question for them.

What do you guys think of putting all this info into an open office / pdf format, along with many of the other guides that are on the net and here, and uploading the data to bittorrent.

My reason for asking this is i just thought it would be really cool to have every single piece of information(as possible) available for download. I know there are some hard to find data sheets etc, that im sure, if contributed by the members of this forum who had them, could make the ultimate one stop download for info on lasers.

I would of course be willing to help in any way i can, from transferring data from here to .odt(i have already done the beginners guide) to help with seeding the torrent and anything else. Any ideas you guys have on this would be greatly appreciated.

Great idea you got there! though i would suggest you inform anyone who owns a certain peice of information before uploading it publicly but im sure you already thoguht of that :)

have a good night and week :D

by the way have you attempted building your own laser yet? i recommend starting small with a 250-300mw LOC diode and working your way up to maybe even a 1.8+watt blue laser :D trust me you will be addicted once you start.....

Yeah im definately gettin into it. Im going to start with a dolphin torch, plenty of room, should be easy and cheap base for my first project.

I thought id just state that the .odt document ive created was soley atm for my own use, i dont plan on doing anything with said files unless i have express permission. Just got it on my lappy so i can take it to my mates place for general perusal.

There's a problem with this idea.

Laser technologies are changing all the time. In a few months, lots of this PDF would be cold, and in a year or two most of it would be irrelevant.

Otherwise, welcome to the forum! :D Enjoy your stay!

Easiest way to give back to the forum is to donate.

Otherwise, contribute knowledge and intelligent posts.

That's my opinion, anyway.
