Hey y'all. I'm Charlie. Im from St Louis, on the Illinois side.
I'm 24 years old OSHA safety certified. I have been around lasers since I can remember. Maybe the early red ones that were cheap. (Easier to point out a peace of pipe 40' in the air rather than climb to it. )
I have exp. with circuits and soldering I repair xboxs and guitar amps as a hobby.
I currently have 1 laser pen from china under 5mw. And I have 2 diodes one was harvested from a extra laser pen. It got ruined to a drill bit finding the driver. So the diodes still good.
And I have another diode I got from a friend I have no info on it beside its green.
I'm interested in building lasers safely. I'm young and my eyes are important.
My interest in lasers is purely a want to know and want to build.
I know very little on lasers right now. But that will change.

Welcome to the forum, there is a lot of good info here and it's nice to see more PPL from IL.

Thank you for the warm welcome. I kinda dove in head first and tackled the lm317 driver build. Everything seems right so well see when I hook up the ld! And how do I go about changing my location? I'm on a phone. If that helps
