Hi!

Im from Brazil, i dont think there are many brazilians on the forum but here i go.

I found the forum when i was looking for a high burn capacity laser, and im impressed by the amount of information and people with knowledge about laserssss.

I dont know specifics about lasers, and the most powerfull one i had was 50nW green. Now im looking for something around 2W that is visible, i searched on websites like laserbtb, Jet Lasers, LuckLaser, and MANY others. But i didnt feel confident that i will get what i want with them, so maybe you guys can point me some directions and help me find what i need. :D

Nice to meet you LPF!

Your best option for a 2w laser is right here at LPF. We have some of the best custom laser builder around. Look in the buy sell trade section. Remember a laser of that power will require eye protection.

If a website is more to your liking, laserbtb, jetlasers, dragon lasers, CNI , are great places toget company lasers, but nothing competes with a custom built beauty.

Welcome to the forums bud! :)

As stated by Tmack, a member built 445nm is the way to go! I would recommend purchasing a "Dominator" from Blord ;)

Thanks for the welcome. :D

I was looking the DOMINATOR, pretty awesome! But im not worried only with the power, i want it to be focusable or already a tiny beam diameter, cause i need to burn things several feet away.. And yeah, i probably gonna buy it here, they all look great!

Yup, most custom built lasers have focus rings that allow you to adjust the focus into a very small point. Make sure to get good safety goggles as well!

Make sure to also get some safety goggles  2W's will cause a lot of damage in a short period of time. Below are some great goggles(cost around $50): Eagle Pair® 190-540nm Standard Laser Safety Goggles

PS: I would actually recommend buying the goggles before the laser.

Yep i definetly want goggles, i love my vision and dont want to loose it. And prob gonna buy 2 pair of goggles, so my GF can use it too..

Tha Greenlander that goggles apear to be great! But isnt 50$ a litle expensive for it? Especially cause i want to buy 2 :undecided:

I should move my questions to a more accurate thread right? maybe 445nm discussion..

Does they really protect against a 2W 445nm?? And blue lasers also have IR right?

1) Yes, they do protect agaisnt 2W of 445nm.

2) Depends which *blue* you are talking bout. 473nm does include IR as it's DPSS, but 445nm dosen't :D

Bro, humbly speaking, you love your GF and your vision. So do we. $50 is the average price for adequate retinal protection. Our Laser hobby is expensive, in every aspect of the word. So either it's permanent blindness or life-long vision. Pls don't stinge and make the wrong decision.:)

First of all, my name is Rigel and i just discovered that im the knee of Orion :) thx to OrionBLF´s avatar. I knew i was in Oreon constelation but didnt know where.

Im totaly with you OrionBLF, i WILL buy whatever i need to protect my eyes and those of my GF and friends. But i thought that maybe 50$ is overpiced, cause WL sells their artic 2W goggles for 19,90$, and ryansoh3 posted this one as an option too Uvex S1933X Skyper Safety Eyewear, Black Frame, SCT-Orange UV Extreme Anti-Fog Lens - Amazon.com

So idk, im still looking what are the options of protection for this kind of laser.

As a proud owner of a dominator I can say that it burns from 10ft plus.
Tmack Thats very nice! Do you have to use lens for it? I was thinking if i can light a match 20m away that would be like 65 feet. idk if that is possible at all, or if its just a matter of focusable lens and beam diameter.

Thanks for everyone's replies so far! :D

20m is a bit too far. Now 20ft is more realistic. And yes a proper lens is required for any laser.
Good luck on the hunt.
