Greetings!

I am completely new to lasers and building anything at all. I have always been interested in lasers and i would like to learn how to build one.

I have no idea what goes into building a laser or what i would need or even where to get it.

I have been looking on the forums for a few days and learning a lot.

I hope to know enough to start building a laser soon!

First off, welcome to the forum.

I would encourage you to use the forum search tool and review some of the archived threads that talk about laser basics, safety, and construction. There are a lot of people here to help, but it will serve you well to do your homework first before asking a question that's already been asked 100 times. There is a ton of info at your fingertips via the search tool.

Also, check out the sticky posts in each forum subsection. These have important or common info that will help you get started here... especially pay attention to the safety section. You'll want to understand the do's and don'ts around lasers and purchase a set of applicable safety goggles if you plan on using or building anything more than a few milliwatts. I would think that safety goggles are especially important when building due to the number of things that "can go wrong" with lasing during testing, etc.
