First post - new here and new to lasers

Welcome to the forum, KapHn8d. It'll be nice to have another photographer around!

There are a number of threads related to photographing you lasers, and how to fine tune the images for the forum. If you ever have any questions, feel free to PM me.

Clayton here are a couple of shots I've done to get an idea on how to do beam photography. I'm using a point and shoot so it can be a challenge.

405nm hitting crystal in water with detergent.

This is a 532 hitting the same crystal this time I used pink highlighter ink.




I need to get a fish tank and a rig to hold the crystals with,(using wire now).

Thanks, Mattronium! I've made it through most of the stickies... especially the rules and regs type ones. Learning a lot digging through old posts and following breadcrumbs to YouTube vids and stuff. Good times.

Thank you, laserbee!! I've skimmed through almost every link in the anti-WL thread and let me tell you... it has opened my eyes to be sure. I have to admit, I was woo'd by the look of the hosts and all the marketing media out there (the do a good job of marketing on the web with all the sexy vids even if they have other problems), but I'm a fan of folks actually using some critical thinking to make decisions instead of just mooing with the herd, so thanks for contributing to my taking the red pill and get out of The Matrix.
I have a feeling I may be making an order from you soon... I'm really digging all the positive stuff I'm reading about the LaserBee LPMs!

scumbagatheist - Thanks for the rep points and the welcome! I can see how photographing laser beams can be tricky... especially as I learn more about wavelengths and power and their effect on perceived visibility. I found the "post your random pics" thread and contributed there, but they weren't "laser" pics (yet).

Antharak, those are pretty nice! I like the chaotic reflections of beams going through smoke, so that will probably be one of my first photo projects. The detergent added for effect was neat... the cool factor of laser beams penetrating stuff is just off the charts. Anyway, thank you for sharing your pics!
