Hi all,
Long time CPF'er, lurking here occasionally since early '07. I've suddenly been bit by the laser bug again.
I reached my lasing threshold in late '06 with Dr. Lava's 650nm Rohm GB (along with his components for a simple, current limiting circuit), and my build from that is still going strong, though it severely needs new E2 lithiums... couldn't even produce smoke from a navy blue piece of paper last night whereas when new, it melted a hole right through a black CD case, and popped balloons pretty quickly from a solid 20+ feet away. Still makes a bright dot far away, and the beam is slightly visible, but needs fresh juice to pump it back up to former glory.
Around the same time, I bought an Atlasnova 38 mW 532 pen (IR filtered and Coherent tested) which has been kept in mint shape, but also needs fresh E2's. Both lasers are on their first set of batts from way back then... shameful.
Other lasing background: I was a customer involved with Blue Fusion's messed up Fusion Drive GB that was eventually rectified by SenKat (still haven't assembled those damn things!), and I've actually been mentioned here as one of the people pushing to find info on the US Military BLPS goggles for red blocking.
Anyway, I'm here to join some discussions, buy some stuff, make more builds, and have fun.
