Been a lurker for quite a few weeks made my account last week, week before last? (can't remember)

First time doing an introduction topic so I'll just go through basic information

I'm from the UK, i'm 13 had an interest in lasers since I received a 1mW red laser pointer last year or thereabouts, I had no idea they could be this powerful I just thought that little red pointer was insanely powerful already :D
It broke in January and I didn't start looking for a new one till August, stumbled upon a lot of websites like dragon lasers wicked lasers, etc.
Was bored browsing youtube and found Styropyros channel which then lead me here.

I'm Feeling slightly patronized already by people focusing on my age, it's a number and completely irrelevant to my coming here, if I'd have known this would have happened I wouldn't have said my age, it typically doesn't and people look past that and don't judge me based on it, sorry if I sound rude but this is the first online community to make assumptions based on my age, I realise people may have safety concerns but I'm not a typical teenager others are outside climbing trees I spend my time taking things apart and learning how things work.

Glad to be here :)

welcome, young boy,
as you are only 13, I suggest you don't get lasers over 5mw, which will be dangerous for you and your mates.

Note: safe is the most important thing IN LPF

BTW, welcome

Hey John thanks for the welcome first of all, but I wouldn't be here if I didn't care about safety, one of the main reasons i joined up is to make sure everyone stays safe and to guide new laserists towards safety.

Welcome to the forum. Glad to see you decided to look before making mistakes.
13 is young, but there are many fun things you can do with very low powered lasers.
Check out the DIY section and you can find simple to make motor wheels with a diffraction lens on it. It will make rotating star patterns on the wall , even with a small laser like you lost.
There are plenty of things her to do safely if you start reading.;)
