My name is Earl, i am from Daytona Beach Florida. I tend to use ... a lot, but otherwise my spelling, grammar, and punctuation is spot on... Well, it may not seem like my punctuation is that great right at the moment, but i can only type with one hand as one of my many interests and professions is pyrotechnics(I bet you can guess where this is going). I am a professional(yes, i really am) and deliver to places like Disney and Seaworld, and i do major shows for cities, like Ormond Beach, Jacksonville, St. Augustine, etc. Well, to make a long story short, i had an accident and almost lost my thumb and index finger(thank god for good surgeons and workers comp 
). I get the pins removed and go to physical therapy next tuesday...
Anyway, I am a full time student at UCF working on my bachelors in physics, i have done a lot of work in chemistry, i have taken classes for(and done work with) SMC(surface mount components) and taken some electronics courses. I have a passion for aviation, and anything that requires some fabrication(i worked as a machinist for 4 years), hands on, and brain power. I fly rc helicopters, i am a rated pilot(though not current), and tinker all the time.
I feel that i may be able to contribute to this forum in a positive way. I am currently ramping up for two projects. One is a simple conversion of Deal extremes true 5mw to a 200mw, the other is a 1w 445nm handheld... most components are ordered, but i need to find a suitable heatsink and diode for the 1w 445nm... I also need my hand back... lol.
