Aloha everyone! my name is jun! I got my first yobresal 445 1 w from this forum and was definitely worth it! The laser was the center of fascination to my daughter and girlfriend who've never seen a UV beam in real life. That was until someone jacked our laser from my car when we were out camping in waipio valley:yabbmad: So now I guess it's back to square one again and got us to wondering if any of you folks are selling a homemade 2 w blue laser pointer or a kit to create one. We would definitely appreciate the help and guidance from you guys! Alohaz!

Uuuuuummmmm, 445nm is NOT UV. It is blue. 405nm is close to UV but still not quite there.
You wouldn't likely have had a 1W 405nm so it probably was the 445nm as you claimed.
And did you have safety eyewear for the daughter & girlfriend ? A 1W 445 is a very dangerous weapon.
If you didn't follow safety protocols with that one would you consider it before getting a 2W version ?

to the Forum....
Don't forget to read the FAQs...the Stickies
and the Forum Rules..

And Ditto to the above Post... You should always have your
eyes protected with appropriate Laser Safety Goggles/Glasses
when operating High Powered Lasers...
It only takes a fraction of a second to damage your eyes..
Lasers are not toys and should not be treated as such...

Enjoy your stay...

Thanks for the correction guys, "BLUE" was the correct term. Sorry bout that. We do follow the procedures quite regularly here cause we know how harmful these lasers are. Along with not pointing them at planes, animal etc.... There's just some jokers out there that just ruin it for everyone. And just to let you guys know we are using the 540-760 laser safety glasses we purchased separately from jet lasers.com. We really don't want to have you folks think we're being irresponsible. And the 2 watt is pretty much a gift to myself. Oh, and the fact that i've consider the laser to be a 2 w is that it's kinda gonna be my gift to myself. I have no intention to use it as a toy, Nor a source of inappropriate entertainment. Thank you for the guidance guys and we appreciate your concerns!

I would tell you that this is better than nothing... but it probably isn't ;)

If you ever get a laser in the 540 - 760 nm range, then these glasses will do a great job of protecting your eyes.

Unfortunately, 445 does not fall between 540 and 760 :(
