We have a wonderfully moderated forum here.

It is not my goal to question past decisions.

Rather I would like to understand the consequences of certain easily defined situations, so that I may adapt myself to the environment I am presented with.

To that end, these are observations about past consequences;

Trolling - First time 7 days.
Trolling - Second time 21 days.
Arguing with a mod - 14 days.
Ignoring warning - 3 days.
Responding to a troll - 3 days.
Language - 3 days.
Multiple - Permaban.
Spamming Permaban.
Scamming - Permaban.

So question.

What is "Language"?

Is there a list of words, phrases, quotes, colloquialisms, etc, which should be avoided?

How is it different from trolling?

For example if a long, rambling post, that is highly insulting, self contradictory, and trolls, but does not specifically reference a member with regards to the insult, and only references that member indirectly that's language?

If conversely a specific member is referenced than that is trolling?

It's quite simple...

Come to my house as a guest and do something wrong or
complain about how I go about my business in my house
and you will be permabanned (at the very least) with no
reasons given to you since you did not pay to visit but were
merely a guest.

All I've heard from you in the past few days is whining about
Mods and Trolls....

I can only suggest that if you don't like it here or how things
are run here... there is always somewhere else that may be
more to your liking...

Language = profanity/expletives

Your "observations" are NOT hard "rules" for ban lengths

Each instance is considered in context

Each "violation" is subject to variations in severity

Each violation is measured with regard to repeated offense and length of time between offenses

In addition, the general membership is rarely privy to all the information that is available to the moderators

Peace,
dave

@IE

We've had words we both know that, and I've been privy to email/pm exchanges between you and MOD(s) on this forum, and I'm astonished by the way you feel you have the right to tell us how to moderate the forum. I mean seriously...

I'm beginning to think you have some kind of superiority complex, and I'm talking real world here, not just on the net.

I've stayed out of your way to avoid conflict...but no more, I'll be as "in your face" as you like, I'll be watching you like a hawk. So give me your neg reps, your smart comments, your underhand remarks, I'll suck it all up..But I promise you this..

I will win.

Jerry's post sums it up in a nutshell.

I can only suggest that if you don't like it here or how things
are run here... there is always somewhere else that may be
more to your liking...

The forum was here before you, and it'll be here long after you've gone.

If you PM me to whine about this, or any other post I will ban you instantly.
