If you mean from inside a thread, it's just normal, you cannot post a thread inside another thread, just reply to the current one where you are.

So is probably due to the fact that you are still in "junior member" condition (under a certain number of posts, some functions of the forum are blocked)

I don't remember if the limit actually is 30 or 50, but if this is the problem, then you see that when your status change from "junior member" to at least "class 1 laser", also the rest of the functions becomes unlocked and appears in your pages.

This is a normal setup in any VB based forums, and happens to anyone, is not related to you personally :)

well, at first i thought it may be i am a "junior member". But when i saw, there are some other new mermber who post lower than 10 or lower than me also can creat new threads.for example:

This seems to be the right place for this, so may I ask a few "basic" questions about diodes harvested from drives? I've been wondering about this. I'm sure Blu-Ray DVD drives always have Blu-Ray lasers inside, but:

Does a CD drive (reader/burner) ALWAYS have an IR laser diode?

and

Does a regular DVD drive (reader/burner) ALWAYS have a red laser diode?

Thanks for any clarification you can give to this newbie.

I don't think that was out of line to ask here... It's a pretty common question, and it's not clearly answered by the FAQ... Since Chad's no longer here, we can't really get things added to the FAQ, we'll just need to post them in the thread itself.

I've answered dave in a PM, but I'll post it here for the next newbie who asks:

It's technically possible for a red laser to read a CD, or a violet laser to read a DVD or CD, but it's much easier and cheaper for the manufacturer to use separate lasers.

And, in my experience, all DVD drives also have an IR laser for CD's, and all BR drives have all three lasers. I've never seen a DVD player that doesn't play CD's, and I've never seen a bluray drive that doesn't play both DVD's and CD's.
